The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
