Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
