The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
