And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 About what they used to do. 93 Preach what you have been commanded to and stay away from the pagans. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
