Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your deeds; yet He forgives much. 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 Let those who dispute Our signs know that there is no way of escape for them. 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 who obey their Lord and establish Prayer; who conduct their affairs by consultation, and spend out of what We have bestowed upon them; 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
