Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty Garden 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
