Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
