The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 By the Promised Day! 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism), 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
