The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The piercing star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
