And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 : He said: "O Lord, I fear that they will deny me. 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 “Therefore approach Firaun then proclaim, ‘We both are Noble Messengers of the Lord Of The Creation.’ 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty." 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
