The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
