The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He has created man: 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
