And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 and left them thus to be remembered among later generations: 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 Surely they were both of Our believing servants. 122 Elias too was one of the Envoys; 123 He said to his people, "Have you no fear [of God?] 124 What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators, 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?' 126 Then they belied him, so verily they are to be brought up. 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 and We left for him among the later folk 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
