And when Abraham said: 'My Lord, make this a land secure. Turn me and my children away from worshipping idols. 35 "O my Lord! they have indeed led astray many among mankind; He then who follows my (ways) is of me, and he that disobeys me,- but Thou art indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 36 Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. So make hearts among the people incline toward them and provide for them from the fruits that they might be grateful. 37 O Lord, You have knowledge of what we hide and what we reveal, for nothing on the earth or in the skies is hidden from God. 38 All praise be to Allah Who, despite my old age, has given me Ishmael and Isaac. Surely my Lord hears all prayers. 39 My Lord! make me keep up prayer and from my offspring (too), O our Lord, and accept my prayer: 40 Our Lord! forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day whereon will be set up the reckoning. 41
