Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
