The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and so am I: 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
