And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
