Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
