Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
