The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
