Can someone to whom We have made a gracious promise and who will see it fulfilled, be compared to someone We have allowed to enjoy a worldly life, awhile, and who will be brought up [before God] for his accounting on the Day of Resurrection? 61 And on the Day whereon He shall call unto them and say: where are My associates whom ye were wont to assert? 62 Those against whom the sentence is justified will say: "O Lord, these are those we had led astray as we had ourselves gone astray. We clear ourselves before You: They never worshipped us." 63 It shall be said, 'Call you now upon your associates!' And they will call upon them, but they shall not answer them, and they shall see the chastisement-ah, if they had been guided! 64 That Day (Allah) will call to them, and say: "What was the answer ye gave to the messengers?" 65 The door to all answers will be closed to them and they will not even be able to ask one another. 66 But he who repents and believes and does good things may well be among the successful. 67 Thy Lord creates whatsoever He will and He chooses; they have not the choice. Glory be to God! High be He exalted above that they associate! 68 And your Lord knows what is hidden in their breasts, and what they disclose. 69 He is God. There is no god but He. His alone is praise first and last, and His the judgement, and to Him will you be brought back in the end. 70 Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?" 71 Say thou: bethink ye, if Allah made day continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, what god is there beside Allah, who would bring you night wherein ye have repose? Behold ye not? 72 It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you night and day that you may repose (during the night) and seek His Bounty (during the day) that you might be grateful. 73 Upon a day He will call them and ask: "Where are they you imagined were My compeers?" 74 And We will draw forth from among every nation a witness and say: Bring your proof; then shall they know that the truth is Allah's, and that which they forged shall depart from them. 75
