And Noah, when he cried of old, We heard his prayer and saved him and his household from the great affliction. 76 We helped him against his people who rejected Our revelations. They were surely a wicked people, so We drowned them all. 77 (Remember) David and Solomon, when they pronounced judgement about the field which was eaten up at night by sheep belonging to certain people. We were witness to their judgement. 78 And We made Sulaiman (Solomon) to understand (the case), and to each of them We gave Hukman (right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains and the birds to glorify Our Praises along with Dawud (David), And it was We Who were the doers (of all these things). 79 And We taught him the making of metal coats of mail (for battles), to protect you in your fighting. Are you then grateful? 80 (It was Our power that made) the violent (unruly) wind flow (tamely) for Solomon, to his order, to the land which We had blessed: for We do know all things. 81 And among the rebellious forces [which We made subservient to him] there were some that dived for him [into the sea] and performed other works, besides: but it was We who kept watch over them. 82 ۞ And Job when he called to his Lord: 'Affliction has befallen me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful' 83 We accepted his prayer and removed the affliction from him, and We not only restored to him his family but as many more with them as a mercy from Us and as a lesson to the worshippers. 84 And Isma'il and ldris and Zul-Kifl! each were of the patient. 85 We encompassed them in Our mercy; they were righteous people. 86 And ThulNun (Prophet Jonah), he went away in anger thinking We had no power over him. But in the darkness he cried: 'There is no god except You. Exaltations to You! I was among the harmdoers' 87 We heard his cry, and saved him from the anguish. That is how We deliver those who believe. 88 And (remember) Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: "O my Lord! leave me not without offspring, though thou art the best of inheritors." 89 Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us. 90 And she who guarded her chastity! Then We breathed into her of Our spirit, and made her and her son a sign unto the worlds. 91 Lo! this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 But (later generations) cut off their affair (of unity), one from another: (yet) will they all return to Us. 93
