۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then the Pharaoh sent announcers to the cities, 53 Most surely these are a small company; 54 They are always harassing us. 55 But we are a fully accounted army." 56 Thus did We drive them out of their gardens and springs 57 And from treasures and nice houses. 58 even so, and We bequeathed them upon the Children of Israel. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: "Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!" 61 He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me. 62 Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain. 63 Then brought We near the others to that place. 64 and We delivered Moses and his companions, all of them, 65 But We drowned the others. 66 In this [story] behold, there is a message [unto all men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 67 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 68
