Evidence (of the truth) for them is how We revived the dead earth 33 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs - 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 And a Sign for them is the Night: We withdraw therefrom the Day, and behold they are plunged in darkness; 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 unless it be a mercy from us, and as an enjoyment for a season. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?” 48 They wait not for aught but a single cry which will overtake them while they yet contend with one another. 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50
