Samood rejected the warning. 23 So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 30 Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us). 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 They lusted after his guests, so We put out their eyes (and said): "Taste My punishment and My commination." 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
