Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 until you visit the graves. 2 Nay, but ye will come to know! 3 Then no! You are going to know. 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
