And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
