The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
