Hizb 46

Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 They say, 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
