The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
