And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 Said he: "Do [you really think that] they hear you when you invoke them, 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
