Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is no joke. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
