Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 a warning to humans, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 About the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
