The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
