▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 Warn the men. 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
