The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Proclaim the Purity of your Lord, the Supreme. 1 Who has created (all things) proportionately, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 And who brings out the pasture 4 Then makes it dried up, dust-colored. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 Except what Allah wills; indeed He knows all the evident and all the concealed. 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Therefore, keep on preaching as long as it is of benefit. 9 He who fears will mind, 10 And the most wicked will stay away from it. 11 [He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire, 12 Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 and remembers the Name of his Lord, so he prays. 15 But you prefer the present life, 16 While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Surely, this is in the ancient Scrolls, 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
