And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 That which you have been given is but the enjoyment of the present life. Better and more enduring is that which Allah has for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 There is no blame against him who avenges himself after he has been wronged. 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43
