Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
