Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 every soul will see the result of its deeds - those recorded before his death and those which will produce either virtue or evil after his death. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble scribes, 11 They know all that you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
