The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
