Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In high empyrean 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
