Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 Aaron my brother 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 "And make him share my task: 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
