Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
