The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
