The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
