Seest thou not those that dispute concerning the Signs of Allah? How are they turned away (from Reality)?- 69 Those who cry lies to the Book and that wherewith We sent Our Messengers -- soon they will know! 70 when fetters will be placed around their necks and chains will drag them 71 and are dragged into burning despair, and in the end become fuel for the fire [of hell]. 72 Then it will be said to them, "Where is that which you used to associate [with Him in worship] 73 other than Allah' They will reply: 'They have gone astray from us. Indeed what we used to call upon before is nothing' Accordingly, Allah leads the unbelievers astray. 74 They will be told, "This (torment) is the result of your unreasonable happiness on the earth and of your propagation of falsehood. 75 So enter the gates of Hell to abide in it for ever." How evil the abode of the arrogant! 76 So be patient [Prophet], for God's promise is true: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life, or cause you to die first, it is to Us that they will be recalled. 77 Before your time We sent other messengers: of them there are some whose story We have related to you, and some whose story We have not related to you. It was not [possible] for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of God: but when the command of God was issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice. There and then, those who stood on falsehoods perished. 78
