O ye who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger, and turn not away from him when ye hear (him speak). 20 Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: 21 ۞ Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah's sight are the deaf, the dumb, who have no sense. 22 Indeed, had Allah known any good in them, He would have let them hear. But even if He had made them hear, they would have turned away, swerving aside. 23 O People who Believe! Present yourselves upon the command of Allah and His Noble Messenger, when the Noble Messenger calls you towards the matter that will bestow you life; and know that the command of Allah becomes a barrier between a man and his heart’s intentions, and that you will all be raised towards Him. 24 And fear the turmoil which will certainly not fall only upon a few selected unjust people among you; and know that Allah’s punishment is severe. 25 And remember, when ye were few and reckoned feeble in the land, and were in fear lest men should extirpate you, how He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and made provision of good things for you, that haply ye might be thankful. 26 O you who believe, do not be faithless to God and His Apostle, nor violate your trusts knowingly. 27 and know that your worldly goods and your children are but a trial and a temptation, and that with God there is a tremendous reward. 28
