Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
