Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 Every soul will come to know what it has sent ahead and what it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
