Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
